Students Watch Roger Federer at the O2
On Tuesday 11th November eight University Academy of Engineering South Bank students had a fantastic day, visiting the O2 Greenwich for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. The fun started even before the students entered the O2 Arena. Outside the students watched a racket being strung, were interviewed about the tennis and brandished an enormous racket.
Once inside the excited students watched a game of doubles with Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic versus Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. After a short intermission imagine the student's surprise when it was announced that fourth seed Kei Nishikor was to play the second seed and six-time champion at the season finale - Roger Federer! After a closely matched, competitively fought first game Federer stormed ahead to victory.
