KS3

We will build on the strengths of primary school teaching and learning to help our students settle in to their new Academy

Moving on to secondary school is a big step for students and families. We’ve designed our Key Stage Three curriculum to build on the strengths of primary school teaching and learning to help our students settle in to their new Academy. This will help them to make accelerated progress in Year 7 and 8.

Every student will have a ‘Community Leader’ who will take responsibility for their academic progress, personal welfare and development as well as being the first point of contact for families.

Subjects

Students will have a core team of STEM teachers. English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities will be taught by specialist subject teachers to help students develop and prepare for Key Stage Four. They will also take part in Performing Arts, Design and Technology, Physical Education, Humanities, Art and Design, Computer Science and learn a world language to give every student a truly inspirational and exciting experience.

Our curriculum has a strong emphasis on communication, literacy and numeracy. Small group sizes will ensure our students get the most out of all lessons. Our students will also have the opportunity to learn a world language such as Spanish. Chinese language will also be available through London South Bank University’s strong links in China.
