Research and our own experience tell us that students do best at school when the Home and Academy are working in partnership. The Home / Academy Agreement is made to help to support our work together.
The University Academy of Engineering South Bank will be at the heart of its Southwark community.
We believe that partnership with families is vital to the success of our students. We will develop a relationship with families so that they have an active role in their child’s educational experience. Our staff will ensure that families are communicated with, using whatever method is most appropriate; be it online, phone or text.
The Academy will ensure, through appropriate training courses, that families will also have the skills and confidence to access their children's e-portfolios and learning plans, monitor their progress, and help support their learning.
Learning in the community
There are plans to extend learning opportunities to adults from the local community, and to invite local businesses in to share their expertise. We will provide sessions for students and families to learn something new together. These activities include cooking sessions, singing/choir, language classes, kite design, chess, music ensemble and drama.
If you would like to offer your expertise in any session or would simply like to find out how to join one of our sessions, please email us by clicking here.
